About Us

Founded in 2020, IPF Racing is a specialized manufacturing and engineering business based in Hazel Park, Michigan (USA). We focus on high-precision, low-volume production of rare or hard-to-find automotive parts, as well as offering advanced reverse engineering and prototype manufacturing services. Complementing our core manufacturing, we provide 3D scanning, 3D modelling, and 3D printing services bringing complex part re-creation and customized components into tangible reality.
About the President/Owner: Zac Watts
My background is in Mechanical Engineering with a BS degree from Kettering University (2015). During the duration of my studies at Kettering University, I worked as a co-op at CTS Automotive working in all aspects on the product development process in the sensor group. Upon graduating I worked at Pratt Miller as a design engineer in the Engineering Services side of the company for 3 years. I headed up multiple projects for full vehicle test fixtures for OEMs as well as multiple defense vehicle projects. I left Pratt Miller to work at GM for 5 years, 2.5 in the Cadillac Studio as an integration engineer and 2.5 in the simulation group for large vehicle ride and handling simulation. During the Covid shutdown at GM in 2020, I founded IPF Racing and started 3D printing components. I took their voluntary separation package in 2023 to run IPF Racing full time.
Throughout my childhood and entire professional career I was surrounded by car projects. I race and ran the SAE Baja team at Kettering. While at Pratt Miller and GM I ran an MK3 Supra in ChampCar and raced karts in East Lansing, MI. Now I'm in the business of making custom car parts for the rest of the community and building a couple special vehicles for myself.
